Dramatic Sunset With Waves During Windy Weather at Miner's Beach-Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore in Munising, Michigan

I arrived in the upper peninsula of Michigan. It was foggy and misty with a feels like temperature of 26° F. My hope was to be able to get out to the pictured area of Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. That hope was dashed by the 20 MPH sustained winds peaking up to 30 MPH. Certainly not kayaking or wading weather. I went down to Miner’s Beach where there were heavy clouds and heavy surf. The forecast said there would be a chance of clearing right at unset. So I stood there photographing what I could while standing on a normally sandy beach that was underwater two feet every time the waves came in along with fighting the wind. I am glad I waited.
